This is the final render of a one week challenge in which the theme was anthropomorphic. This week, however, we were challenged with trying to imitate another artists style. I immediately thought of the classic joke "is your refrigerator running," and the just as immediately brushed it off as stupid.
However, I just couldn't escape the thought, and decided I absolutely needed to make a threatening fridge that had hairy human legs.
Now I just needed an art style to incorporate. I originally wanted to make something that looked Van Gogh esc, but as I was playing around with some ideas, I stumbled upon this youtuber:
Upon inspection of his channel, I found this absolute gem of a video that changed my art process forever: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BzTN2yTgTj0&t=798s
After watching this video, I needed to use this opportunity of copying a style for a challenge to my absolute advantage and learn something very useful along the way.
This was my result:
After hours of work, I finally captured this artist's essence and made my horrifying creation a reality. For fun, I even decided to leave out the creation of the legs in the thumbnail and video, just to make sure the viewer is taken aback upon seeing the hairy man legs that protrude from the bottom of this menacing fridge.
Overall, this was most likely the project I learned most about art from. The process of using blender's camera to draw lines for you, and then drawing the stylized ones yourself in an even mix was very fun to do. I enjoyed this project and i hope you do to!
